There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty (Proverbs 11:24).
During the great depression, two families shared a house in Pennsylvania. One family occupied the upper floor, and the other family lived on the lower. The family which lived downstairs was always inviting people in to share what they had. whenever there was an opportunity for them to help out, they would do so. No matter how much they gave, they always seemed to have enough. The family on the upper floor, however, scoffed at the way the downstairs family lived. They stored all extras in lockers in the pantry. They gave nothing away. It was not until they found that rats had gotten into their pantry, that they were sorrowful for what they had done. Interestingly, the rats had not disturbed the downstairs pantry.
Selfishness leads to despair. True joy comes to us, not from what we own, but from what we are able to give to others. We were put on this earth to serve one another, and when we fail to do so, there is a price to pay.
When we give what we have, God will bless us with more, and the blessing will be double because of the joy that giving brings.
PRAYER: Take what I have, Lord, and use it for your glory. I have nothing except what you have given me. Help me to share from my abundance, and to give all that I can to those who are in need. Amen.
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it (11:25-26).
A terrible drought befell a certain kingdom. It lasted on and on, and the king began to fear that he and his family might begin to suffer. He began to hoard the grain that was grown and he imposed harsh taxes on people. Each time he took food from the mouths of his subjects, however, he caused them to grow more angry and resentful. At long last, the people rebelled against the selfish king, and they killed not only him, but his family as well.
God wants us to be giving and loving in the bad times as well as in the good. Kindness should not be conditional on whether or not it is convenient. A giving
person is well loved, and reflects the kind of love that Christ came to spread upon this earth. Both Old and New Testaments give us the rule we should follow when we are asked to give. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If we will begin to share what we have, then we will be rewarded by our Father who sees all things that we do.
PRAYER: Make me a giving person, Almighty God. Keep the example of Christ firmly planted in my mind. Show me ways that I might give to others who are in need, and open my heart to them. Amen.

God's powerful message to hurting women- I Can Heal You.
To hurting women, it can seem like your suffering has gone un-notice. After all , women are the keepers of the earth and home. You look after your families much like the women mentioned in Proverb 31.
This is not just a promise for the believers but the non-believers as well. It is human nature to hold on to pain and try to rationalize how you feel about it.
God says to cast the burden of that "HURT" on Him. Pray right now, wherever you are for God to heal every part of you from the pain that you are experiencing.
